Associa Community Management Corporation Resolves Lighting Issues & Improves Community Safety

This 2502-unit community in Bristow, Virginia has been managed by Associa Community Management Corporation since 1997.

Challenge:

The community had both county and association-maintained roads throughout the neighborhood. One of the county-maintained roads was not well-lit, and community residents had security concerns.

Resolution:

The Associa Community Management Corporation team contacted the county about the issue and was informed that installing lights would exceed the budget used for the area. After multiple meetings, county leadership eventually decided the community could be added to the current county-maintained bill, as long as it installed the lights and covered the estimated $120,000 cost of installation.

At that price point, management and the board agreed that it was in their best interest to continue pushing for the county to fund the project. After an additional year of diligent work from the Associa Community Management Corporation team, funding was approved. Thanks to the team’s persistent efforts, the community did not have to provide any funding for the project, and twelve new streetlights were installed to improve the safety of the neighborhood.
